> W850 echo on car kit

Hiya,
Both my Dad and I have W850i's and we're both having problems with our car kits and echoing (on the other end of the phone). I use a Parrott 3100 and Dad uses a Motorola thingy (technical term yes, cos i don't know exactly which it is).
Neither of us had problems with previous phones (neither my P910 or his Pebl), and we've tried all sorts. repositioning and covering speakers and microphones, volume adjustments.....
Has anyone else encountered this problem and come up with a solution at all?
