> Saving text document to W810?
Bookmark topic
I am trying to save text documents to my W810, so I can keep size to a minimum, and then I can save work to my W810 to read later. However I have saved some work as a text document, put it on my W810, and now when I try to read it the words are cut in half at the end of lines(for example:
trying to ex
plore the u
nderground)
which makes it very hard to read. Is there any way I can keep the word whole, saving the file in a different format or something?

I have tried saving documents in different formats coming from different sources with, eh, different results.
I now save text as an ordinary html-page. If you can open or copy/paste the text in Word e.g. (I suppose any text editor) and save it as html file (not single file, it does not work though the phone saves its own pages in this format - possibly because of the extention)then you'll be able to read it as it should in the browser (save in the 'saved webpages' folder).
If you save a web page from your browser with the images in a seperate folder, the browser will put it all nicely together.
That all results in nicely readeable text, save for tables and some formatting.
I think this might be the best way to go...
Hope this helps (but in fact SE could have put in a simple text-document reader, can't be that hard, can it?)

Thanks, just tried it and it works fine. Is there any way you could open them in another browser, like opera, or some other program?

Apparently Opera has no access to the files on the phone... unless you upload them to a web site to read online, which seems somewhat overkill.
I remember having seen java-programs that allow you to read txt-files, but you had to save thme within the program and then send the whole to the phone.
Apparently we're ready for a symbian phone...
