> Help: Using TomTom on W810i
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
I have TomTom Nav 5.x that I used on my Axim X51/V before it was swiped. I could not use the software as a proper GPs, as the CF card never worked with it. So I used it simply as a software A to Z, and was very happy with it.
I understand that TomTom would not work on the W810i as a proper GPS system. But, is there anyway I could use it as a standard map - just to find my way around?. Same applies to the newer TomToms on the market, if they can be used as a passive way to find my way around, I would buy it.
TIA for any advice

Depending on the country you live in or want maps from, you could use Google Maps for Mobile as an alternative. It's free to use though is online so you would have top pay a connection.
Also some wap-sites exist that show you maps and generate driving directions, usually to be found through a link on the portal site of your operator and rather expensive if you ask me - but some do provide you with gsm-based location.

wayfinder navigation is compatible with w810, however it requires an active gprs/3g connection to verify routes/traffic etc. (
