> question on SE flips! top heavy?
Bookmark topic
ive owned samsung flips before, and i love how you can just use a finger to open the flip.
I tried out the z610i and noticed that :
A. the top was heavy
B. it make noises when opening.
when i used the samsungs, it wouls slam shut, and sounded HARD.
whats your view on this?
merry xmas and a happy new year too

Well Samsung has got more experience with making flips, so they know what's best design and ergonomics wise.
I think that SE, to some, may put too much resistance in their hinge which may be why its quite difficult to open for some.

The Z610 hinge is way too stiff, there is no way it could be open just buy thump push. But on the other side, better than something really light, but after few months opening itself

I think the Z520's flip mechanism is hiddeous. It's super stiff at first and clicks noticeably when it opens or closes. However, the W300's is greatly improved. It's smooth just like a motorola's. I also tried out a W710's flip and thought it was fine. Personally I don't think any flip is heavy but I do like automatic ones like the Motorola PEBL's.

I love the flip action on my SE V800. Solid with a noticable "thunk" when it opens or closes. Awesome phone in general.

@Rambo47- that was a beauty of a clam. The V800 was made perfect.
