While surfing the internet i found this:
http://www.mobtec.net/unlock_form/Sony_Ericsson/P990.php
I am getting my p990 on orange soon and i really don't want all the junk that is on it from Orange. So could this website be the answer to unlocking a P990 for a reasonable price?

Are you sure your not confusing unlocking with debranding ?
Unlocking will let you use other networks simcards, where as debranding will remove dedicated network features like the Orange menu designs, simply unlocking an Orange phone wont remove the Orange menus & startup logos.

Oh i thought it was pretty much the same. How do you debrand a phone then? And is there a way to do it cheaply because i really don't want to have to buy the SeTool. Also with the SeTool can you unlock and debrand the phone?

Dont know of any debranding available other than se tool
Unlocking sites mostly say P990 unlocking is not currently available so i would be surprised if that site can do it. i think at the moment only Orange can unlock it.
However,as mentioned in past threads, Buy an Orange Pay as u go sim card for £1 online, register it using your Orange P990 IMEI number, phone Orange for unlocking code, they will do it within 14 days & charge you £20.

Hi, i have been looking on some other websites, i found one that can debrand it for £20 with p+p. I am still looking for a place to unlock it but i don't really need it to be unlocked as my contract has only just began.

£20 sounds not bad, but sending the phone away....i wouldnt do that.
Have you tried talking to the service center down in southend, they are nice people & can often do work while you wait, i have no idea if they would unlock or debrand, but worth a phone call, they used to reflash SE phones for me while i waited (before SEUS that is).
