I havent yet gotten my acount with GPRS, but i understand that you can send SMS both through GPRS and GSM.
What is the difference? Cost, speed, what?

@Boyi

Do Orange still charge the standard SMS rate for SMS over GPRS?
If so does the SMS still count towards your bundled Mb?

The thing is that SMS always, always goes through SMSC (Short Messaging Service Center) no matter if you use CSD or GPRS. SMSC's handles SMS messages as a single charged items not in the amount of data.

sorry guys - all wrong - SMS is sent as normal via GSM & not using GPRS (yet) why fix something that works???? I sure it will change in future, and yes I know there is an option to change sms access to SMS or GPRS - don't know who u spoke to. was it a female??? That is not intended to be sexist - just most women at orange are not technophobes - they are just there to pay the bills & for the 'polite customer service they are ~sooooooo~ damn good at - (they really are - and I'd better tread carefully.

Sending SMS via GPRS is faster when compared to GSM. Some SPs charged you extra for using GPRS, others don't.

Inquire from your SP how it is in your network. I keep mine set to send via GPRS because it's faster and our network don't charge us extra for it.

(When I meant by "faster" here is that I can send it faster to the SMSC, not to the recipient. There doesn't seem to be any difference in that end.)
