There was a time when i was 15 and used to think being 20 or 30 years old was very old,now that i've reached a certain age im kind of aiming for the next hurdle, but don't know what that is exactly yet?

So my question to you is how old do you consider being old?

Being 'old' is a perception to a certain extent in my opinion. You could be forty and be feeble or eighty and full of pepper. I think how one perceives the world also contributes to whether one is 'old' or not. Does one see one's self as fading or in the midst of life?

Thats kind of what i've always thought to be quite honest, and very much agree with the fact that it is at the end of the day a matter of perception and how we look at ouselves.

But its one thing to look at ourselves in a certain way,the other question is how others percieve you isn't that important aswell?

Why? We are each individuals capable of thinking for ourselves, how someone else perceives us is up to them.

But the society we live in based a lot on how others look us and our actions within that society.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter how we look at ourselves,if others refuse to view our actions in a certain way its all a bit pointless wouldn't you agree?

People's views of you only carry as much weight as you allow them to. If someone is adamant about viewing you in a certain way that is up to them. If you choose to allow others' perception of you to guide how you perceive yourself then that is your choice.

I suppose it comes down to how much importance one places upon others' opinion of one's self.
