> P990 battery cover stuck
Bookmark topic
Ok, I got my P990 yesterday. Now, the battery cover on the P910 was easy to remove and I assume it should be the same on the P990 but it's stuck. Seems like a really stupid problem and I feel like a complete fool, but has anybody else had any problem with it? Don't want to use force on it and break it the first thing I do.

i find the easiest way to do it is apply alittle pressure on almost the n of ericsson and pull down on the bar below the se logo take a little amount of force but that should work. i have found it is a hard cover to remove but give it a go.

The battery cover is very stiff, but should come off without breakage!
Pressure where A) batt. cover closest to LED position, and B) matching position on other side of lens cover may help, as the clips are mounted there:
'Scuse the roughness of my diagram!

Thanks! Think I need to make my fingers really dry... why the heck they put that useless bar at the bottom of the cover is beyond my understanding. They should have put something small to give you a grip at the top instead like they did on P910.
edit:
The problem is my fingers slide so I don't get a good grip. My fingers move but the cover won't.
Think I might just take it in to a store. That way they will have to replace it if they break it.

it's easy to do. phone upside down with bottom edge facing away from you. hold with two hands and with your thumbs on the two side edges of the battery cover. push them down and away from you.

its quite hard when u are not used to it but after doing it a few times its very easy -i just turn the phone so that the side with the battery cover is facing up put my two thumbs on each side of the protruding thingy and apply a bit of force with both thumbs and whala it pops out

that curved protusion at the bottom of the battery cover is a funny little thing. seems to have not much purpose, but like tindo196 said, its perfect to open the cover with, if you place thumbs on either end and push up (while holding the phone upside down).
another thing - the curved protusion sticks like a demon to glass tops! better than the rubber protusions on the p910/p900, even.
and it will stick down just enough on almost any clean surface to prevent extended sliding if knocked accidentally.

Your not on your own, my battery cover has been very stiff to remove since i bought the phone & always feels like its going to break, best option is to buy a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a front mounted winch on the bumper, secure the phone to a tree with a couple large of nails & glue the battery cover to the winch hook & select low ratio, carfull the bumper doesnt rip off the 4x4 though !!
