I was watching CNN as things transpired . . . the NEWS was more on a detailed reporting (verbal) event . . . though NOT televised . . . hysteria and pandemonium might be on the RISE for the loyalist in Iraq (and elsewhere . . .) if shown . . .

@shaliron: Definitely can't be justice served when he was tried in a kangaroo court. Even if he had been a tyrant the least that could be done for him is fair trial at the UN's Warcrimes Tribunal in The Hague...I found the haste to execute him quite disturbing. Will his death make Iraq safer? Probably not.

Well the Iraqis wanted to try him in their legal system, to give what they wanted as a fair trial. I guess they wanted to do it themselves then leave it up to others. They want to be seen as a strong country.

In the eyes of its citizens, it was justice served.
