> Why some corporations annoy me

There isnt allot of point to this thread, but I wanted to bring up something thats been on my mind for quite a while, its all to do with business and how profit is their one real goal, but because of this it makes the customers worse off (obviously)
Firstly, I am planning on buying a xbox 360 but I do not want the core package, I want the premium one. The difference between the 2 packages is £80 and a hard drive, wireless remote and internal drive. The reason I dont want the core package is because its not very good value, and I don't liek feeling ripped off.
As some of you know I bought a wii the other day, and I have to say nintendo have brought back my expectations of some corportations. When you pay your £179 for your wii you get everything you need and want to use it, it has built in memory, it comes with built in wirless, it has all the acessories you need to use it and save data on it, it even comes with a free game.
Compare this to the xbox core system, you get so much better value from a wii, and your not expected to have to buy a ton of extras like you do with the xbox. If I were to buy a xbox I would need to buy, a memory card, or hard drive, most likely and you would want to get a wirless adapter to play people online, then also pay for xbox 360 membership, then a headset to talk to people.
now to put that into perspective thats almost an extra £200 ontop that you need to spend just to play on it to its full potential! Im sure microsoft could stop being such stingy bastards and include some acessories with their basic packages!
Now my second little rant, this is along the same lines as the one above, but to do with mp3 players, but relates to many other products.
When I got my first ipod (3rd gen 20gb)I was so happy I got all the acessories I needed to use it and take it places, in the original box you would get:
Firewire cable
Firewire adapter,
Usb cable
Charger
Hard case
Soft case
CD
Headphones
Dock
ipod
belt clip
now these days when I bought my latest ipod 5th gen video 30gb it coems with
cd
headphones,
usb cable
ipod
case
They cut down all the important acessories that came with the ipod, and because apple were the larket leaders after this cost saving measure almost all other companies that produced and sold premium mp3 players such as creative etc did the same thing.
I realise that it cut costs majorly as they no longer had to include all these freebies, and now the boxes are smaller they can package them more effectivly, but it takes away value from the new product.
Why so they do this? I know it saves money but even money is not the most important thing on earth and when they make billions a year, they can cut down instead of taking larger cuts....

I know what you mean. What you get with the iPod now is really stingy, and every one keeps on going with it. Even the other manufacturers of mp3 players have followed the industry leader's lead by not including an AC charger with the player. And the cost of the AC charger is about 1/4 of the price of a 2GB nano as well.

is not to stop you sellig your old one?
ie.. i've my 60gb photo ipod and a dock, firewire cable, charger etc, when i upgrade to the 80gb video my old firewire cable and charger will still work..
thats the way i see it, as for the xbox.. it's MS.. what did you expect?

It annoys me how they cut back and as they do it other compnayies do it, then charge stupid prices for the other acessories they used to give for free, aka a basic transdformer for £20 quid is a joke
sony are even worse if you have to buy a datacable asnd charger for their nwa series it used to cost £100 from them
