> T68i Memory Allocation Units in My Pictures
Bookmark topic
Guys, and gals,
Does anyone know how our T68i's handle memory? I put about 135KB worth of pictures according to checking the picture size in "Picture Info", and when I check the status of the phone memory, My Pictures is at 513KB. I'm guessing that the T68i's memory allocation unit size is a lot larger than it should be with such little memory. Here are some comparisons I've taken from my phone:
GIF, 6KB in Picture Info, 10KB under memory status
GIF, 4KB in Picture Info, 10KB under memory status
GIF, 2KB in Picture Info, 6KB under memory status
GIF, 1KB in Picture Info, 5KB under memory status
GIF, 2KB in Picture Info, 9KB under memory status
GIF, 1KB in Picture Info, 3KB under memory status
WBMP, 134b in Picture Info, 282b under memory status
Animated GIF, 19KB in Picture Info, 53KB under memory status
Animated GIF, 17KB in Picture Info, 52KB under memory status
Animated GIF, 25KB in Picture Info, 93KB under memory status
JPEG, 1KB in Picture Info, 10KB under memory status
JPEG, 2KB in Picture Info, 10KB under memory status
JPEG, 2KB in Picture Info, 11KB under memory status
JPEG, 8KB in Picture Info, 10KB under memory status
So I'm trying to figure out, which is the best for pictures with gradients? I know on the PC, JPEG is smaller than GIF. With sharp colour changes and not much gradient, GIF is much smaller than JPG. I'm confused about how the T68i uses memory...Anybody have an answer to this?
BTW I found that Themes, Sounds, and MMS, are all accurate with "info" compared to the memory status sizes.

woooooooah - big post - the handset much convert the pics into some sort of root code - if u see ur list of jpgs - even though they differ in size - when on the phone they all all very similiar - im no programmer (except wml/html??????) but it must be something like that - it's not a PC - so this is how the phone interprets it - unless anyone has any other suggestions???

It would be fun if SE service centers can upgrade our hand phones memory from 1mb to 3mb.
