Has anybody come across any viruses, spyware or trojans on the P990? Is there a need for antivirus/firewall software?

As far as I know, there is NO single virus or other malicious thinging out for an UIQ 2 or 3 device. P990i is UIQ3.
When SE came out withe their first P800, they said its coming... nothing as of today arrived!!!

I have never heard about a virus for UIQ. Not for neither UIQ2 nor UIQ3. It's much more S60 phones, so the virus developers will probably develope more virus for S60 since it's the Symbian interface with most phones and users

So what's the virus definition file look like since there is not a single virus for that out there? Must be an empty file then!

id imagine much the same as the s60 one - the backend is still the same, uiq and s60 are only ui frontends

what the uiq antivirus does is prevent you having a pc virus transfered from any medium to your phone. this is not for your phones protection, but for the pc. viruses can be started on sync with the pc.
