Unfortunately, despite your good intention of hooking up with new friends, this could also be potentially abused and we're gonna end up getting a torrent of spam or even worse (viruses, etc). So I'm gonna have to say: thanks, but no thanks.

you misunderstand. victorh017 is not saying the idea is spam, he is saying by openly posting yahoo id's you are inviting spam to your yahoo account.
If people want to show their yahoo id's they can do it via their esato profile anyway.
But, I think Esato is the place to have such discussions so that the audience is larger, more people get involved and its better all around

Again, I think it could be potentially abused by others, who could take those yahoo ID's and use them on whatever emailing list they wish. I wasn't saying that cipri or any other esato member would send me spam.
Anyway, my advice: let's just post our comments using the esato threads. That's what they're here for...
