Hi guys and gals,

I need some help, I am working on repackaging my ebay trade, this basically means I am revamping it and giving it a new look and name (im getting abit bored with its current setup)

Firstly here is my new terms and conditions which I plan on linking to all my items, I would like some constructive criticisms, any advice or any ideas to add (please note I am a experienced ebay user so do not tell me anything silly).

It will probally be linked to my auctions rather then been put all on the auction page (but the link will be hyperlinked to a nice big image or sign stating its my terms and that by bidding on my auctions you agree to the terms and conditions stated)

Terms & Conditions

Secondally I am looking to change my user ID, currently its lukebonathan, but I wanted something a bit more profesional, so any suggestions would be welcome

Um thats all I can think of right now but as I said if you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know.

Thanks very much

Luke

Well with regards to the Names.

Whats your main product.. make it relative then obviously people will rather buy something from someone who knows what they are doing.

Keeping the TC's off the main page would be best yeah maybe have basics, then the full with a centered hyperlinked image.

Hope that helped.

Luke - you cannot state you are not responsible for items lost in the post. You are! It is the sellers responsibility to get the item to the buyer - not the other way round.
Just go the Post & Packing section of the Comunity boards if you need proof. http://forums.ebay.co.uk/forum.jspa?forumID=14
If an item goes missing, you refund the buyer and after 15 days, claim from Royal Mail.
Proof of postage is only good for up to £32 if being paid by PayPal. Paypal state that you have to tracking on the item. If you don't and the buyer makes a claim, unless you can prove that it has been delivered, you will lose any claim. Guaranteed. Suggest you read Paypals terms and conditions and reword yor T&C's.
Hope this helps. Have a read of problems that people have in the Community section of the discussion boards. It makes facinating reading.
Doug

Well I reckon that you're well on your way there to succeeding in your revamp. I don't see much wrong TBH and most of what needs to be said has been said already^.

But one small thing. Don't now 'bout others but I find it damn annoying with white text on a black background. Change it to black text on a white background or something easier on the eyes.

But as I said, I'd say that you've done well.

hello there luke,

About the names, what's wrong with luke Bonathan lol. Well I'm predicting that you're going to sell quite a lot of electronics and bits of others here and there.

EuroElectrics, Electroblue, Radiumactive, Blue Mercury, Iridium Electrics.

Just wondering guys, how come esato doesn't have it's own ebay store named after esato? If someone makes this esato ebay page, top traders here can use the page to list auctions which in turn can be linked back to here! So it's selling both ways. Besides there's a good amount of sales here, it's also a good spot of advertising too via ebay, the best selling pitch.

Derek.

Looks fairly good, though to be honest I would keep it as short and as simple as possible. People when they see a huge long list of T & Cs tend not to read them. I have to admit I have fallen foul of that on a couple of occasions, not read T & Cs and had a curt email when I've sent payment when they've stated to do it another way!

Have a look at what I've written, I've tried to be as concise and short as possible whilst getting the point across (Click the link in my sig).

Another thing I would suggest is to stipulate on items above £50 or so in value that you don't accept Paypal payments from people with unconfirmed addresses. I've just found that out the hard way, where someone whom I sold an item to in August last month filed a chargeback order with their credit card company, and as I'd posted to an unconfirmed Paypal account (It says on the confirmation email you get when you're paid if they're confirmed or not) I lost the chargeback and lost £80 plus a £7 charge from Paypal for the privelege of being ripped off. Just before Christmas as well. Just a cautionary tale.

Cheers guys,

@ doug - unforchantly I know all to well about the postage rules and regulations, but i am trying to cover my ass as much as possible since in the past I have lost some money by "items not being recieved" these days I send almost everything by recorded del, but have found I needed to change the way compensation was given.... before I would issue a refund, then claim, but the royal mail stopped putting out to me as i had about 4-5 claims a month i can no longer do that so I must work with the buyer to get them a refund....

I normally sell electronics, from mp3 players to laptops, even some really random shit lol.

Regards the name change I would quite like to do it as I recently opened a joint project with a friend called iShack and it rocks, but lukebonathan just doesnt sound as cool, although I have had it for a few years now...
