> Is a W900i, inspired, successor expected?
Bookmark topic
I've had a good flick through posts and searched but can't seem to see any suggestions to Sony Ericsson, possibly announcing a new phone designed from the form factor of the W900i. I've had a S700i and now have the W900i, and would very much like the continue the trend, but am losing faith to the idea of seeing another model similarly designed.
It seems to me, all I can see are alterior designs with the W850i & W950i, neither really have the same 'character'...
Can anyone enlighten, to hopefully something I may of missed?
Cheers

I get the feeling that the swivel line is gone forever, as they were apparently not very popular with the general public (maybe too bulky) Of course, I loved my S700i, great phone (before it broke.. -.- ). Personally i love the design, but maybe others disagree...

I remember ScotsboyUK saying over on se-nse that

had gone off the idea of the swivel form-factor as it was getting harder to make phones both slim and swivel and pack in any good amount of technology.
With the current trend for slimmer mobiles you can see why a new W900i might not be a good gamble.
Shame really, I think we need more 'wow-factor'.

I carried on reading, and stumbled on a post, which included a couple of pictures of a handset which was cancelled. Of course this was of the jacknife variety, posted by 'XUMDEO', i'll reattach the picture. It LOOKS great to me, i'd love a piece of that, even if it is quite chunky! XUMDEO, can you hook me up?!!

@Neyo
Yeah I seen the original post containing this, although I think it would a first if a Japanese handset like the one above made it past these shores.
Shame really.

Well swivels are no more, at least for the near future.
I seem to think that the slider is the more market friendly and practical version of the slider. The slider is easier to use with one hand and can easily be made slimmer, whereas the swivel is quite a clumsy design in comparison.
But the WOW! factor of a swivel is really something though.

Shame really. I wanted a W900 but when I was upgrading it was a choice out of my current W810 or a W900. When I called Vodafone to request an upgrade they told me that the W900 was discontinued and that if I wanted one, I would have to go to a Vodafone store which still had them in stock. I went to one and I found out that if I was to get one I would be charged £100. Then there was the W810, a newer phone and it was free. So i got that. Should have paid the money to get a W900.

i've had a swivel few times, just a couple of times had a w900 and a w600 and the feeling was nice! it seems that

is not "interested" anymore in these moments. but japan market has developed many of these phones. looks like japanesse are interested in swivel phones.
