> PC Suite and P990i Not working
Bookmark topic
I've just installed the PC Suite on my XP (SP2) PC.
The software installs without any problems, but when coming to detect the phone it fails to find anything.
It's a newly installed PC, never having any previous versions of PC Suite installed.
I've tried uninstalling the app, and reinstalling it.
I've tried using different USB ports, and skipping out the cradle, linking the cable directly to the phone.
I've tried rebooting both the phone and the PC.
Nothing seems to help.
I've also searched the interweb for any help and the only other person that came close to my issue had his problem solved by re-installing IE7; which I also tried to no joy.
Can anyone give me any more ideas as to what I could try?

Have you downloaded the newest version from the internet?

The version I have installed was downloaded straight from the website. I tend to not bother with the CD's that come with hardware due to the versions being older.
@johnrey84
The USB setting is set to 'File Transfer' - Allow USB charging. Is this wrong?
The USB icon does appear when the phone is plugged in, clicking on the icon states that the memory stick access has been locked to the PC for file transfer.

You should try both USB modes but your problem seems to be something else.. If other USB devices work properly maybe there is a driver conflict.. If you have a chance maybe try it on your friends computer or something.. An apsolute desperation shoot would be formatting your comp...
I also have problems with PC Suite, but my probs begin in installation itself,.. i think it`s the x64 processor`s fault. If anyone has solution please reply.
BTW i am using WinXP x64

You're a Star, a Hero and, erm, something else that's really complementary. Switching off USB file mode did the job.
I'll also give johnrey84 some credit too for bringing up the USB thing.
Strange that it was that as I'd not changed the phone to file transfer, that's what it defaulted to.
Also, for your problem, could this help?
