Hey guys,

I posted this in the firmware update post, but it is moving pretty quick so I am trying a individualized thread.

I had issues with my backup, after several reboots / retries I finally successfully saved a backup Tthen I ran into issues updating firmware. It would go through the motions and then when I powered on the phone it would just blink a white screen (scared the !@#$ outa me at first). I ended up unistalling the update service downloading it from SE and reinstalling, then the update worked correctly. Now when I try to do a restore the phone reboots and says restore in progress, but I get an error message stating the restore was canceld by the device ???

I updated the pc suite from 1.1.8 to 1.2.15 still no luck, I am running mrouter 3.1.0.28... any ideas???? I really just need my contacts!!!

this moring I installed pc suite 1.2.15 onto my laptop and tried to move the backups off my desktop from the documents and settings / application data / teleca / backup manager / backup archive folder over to the laptop. The pc suite didn't recognize the backup. I then created a backup from the phone on the laptop. Once this completed I had a archive show up in pc suite and under the previous mentioned folder. I then copied and named my original backup from the desktop over to the laptop with the same name as the one it created, still getting canceld by device error???

I am sorting through some log files now, will post what I find once I figure out what i'm looking at.

I'm not sure that this is any help to you, but I was unable to do either sync or restore after the latest upgrade. I ended up uninstalling/reinstalling the pc suite (twice! since after the first time the phone wasn't properly recognized by the computer) which did the trick for me. No problems at all now. SE seems to have pretty buggy software

It's worth a try, I definetly agree on the buggy software, took me 3 tries to get the backup. It kept erroring out on a multimedia file on the phone, so I just checked everything but the multimedia on the phone or card and the backup worked.

Whats crazy is my business partner and I ordered our phones for our company at the same time and his update went flawless. The only thing the restore didn't put back was his 3rd party apps.

I'd be happy to just get my contacts back... anyway going to go unistall reinstall and see what happens.

Does anybody know how to move the backup files to another PC running PC Suite.???

I tried copying over the files from docs / settings --> application data --> something something folder and the PC suite on my laptop doesn't recognize the files, but if I do a backup on the laptop it creates the exact same folder structure etc. They use a real long number for the folder and file for each backup.
