My girlfriends e900's battery seemed to have leaked or something.

She took it out of her back to find it not working (and assures me there was no water damage or anything) to find it with just a white screen, then taking off the batt cover she noticed liquid on the batt and said it smelt a bit like nail varnish remover(?) and the batts connection things had a greenish discharge on them (like when you leave a couple of double A batteries in a gadget for to long )

i was under the impression all batt's these days were dry cell but after questioning myself i got a old d600 batt and destroyed it to found the same liquid with a familiar smell.

Now this e900 still under warranty but does anyone know if thats still the case with the fact the batt caused the damage and not the phone alone (as it seems batts and accessories arn't covered by samsungs warranty for some reason?

Update!

After sending the phone off to Samsung we received a letter from them saying the phone was not repairable no could they offer us a new phone as I think they too thought it was water damaged (it was not).

Then at the bottom of the letter we were told to inform them if we wanted them to dispose free of charge or for them to send it back at £15 cost! WTF!!!

Anyways as I could get more for it off ebay I got it back, but decided that as it can’t be fixed my Samsung I’d void the warrantee and open it up myself and have a root around, which I did and gave it a good clean up too. Put it back together tried and old battery and hay presto it worked!!!

So F you Samsung, your sh1t and I will never buy another thing from you and also advise no one else too!
