AM I RIGHT IN THINKING.... this latest firmware (FW) is no good for my O2 branded P990i? If not, could anyone advise how I could get the O2 FW.

I have heard such branded FW's come out shortly after, but how would i know this? Is it published anywhere?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Is this thread/question similar to one you psoted in the new firmware thread?

In a nutshell:

P990i with a CDA that DOESN'T end in 1 or 2 (possibly including 4 at the time of posting) cannot be updated to the R9EA001 firmware.

There aren't normally announcements for when handsets with other CDA's can update, but more a 'I'll just check to see if it's approved yet' stance (take the Vodafone P990i 'sudden' ability to update to R7A a couple of months back).

You'll have to wait and see until O2 approve a new firmware by either:

checking it yourself periodically, or
waiting for someone to post on here that it can be done.

Yeah, that sounds about right.
That's the process I have to go through with 3 (Hi3G).
I will keep checking with them and if I find out the update is available I'll let 3 subscribers know. They've said it should be available shortly.
