sorry for the title but i couldn't think of a better one to cover my questions.
so here we go (i own a W950i, but solutions for the M600 or the P990 should work on mine, too, right?):
1. how can i animate wallpapers? even if they are animated gifs, they are not moving. animated gifs as screensavers work. they work just fine on my K600 (which cost around one third ;>)
2. how can i animate animated gifs as contact-pictures? they work fine on my K600 but are not animated on my W950. the background that is supposed to be colorless is plain white on the W950.
3. where can i put the location for a meeting in my calender? when i make a new meeting, there is only one line that says Verzeichnis (which is german and means sth like File). But even if i insert sth it still doesn't show on the monthly, weekly or daily overview, nor the today screen.
4. on the today screen, where it shows my tasks and calender-stuff, it only shows meetings for the current day. is it possible to show all the meetings that already had the alarm set and alarmed me, if you know what i mean.
other solution: is it possible to adjust the today-screen to show me meetings that are within the next xx days and not just today. that sucks and doesnt help me very much.
5. speaking of the alarm: is it possible to change what the alarm shows? my alarm only shows me the name of the meeting and the time of the alarm (!). very helpful. showing me the current time when the alarm goes off

i dont want to know the time of the alarm but the time of the meeting. damnit. who thinks of sth like that? i didn't like my windows mobile PDA that much but it was so much better in the calender category (points 4 and 5).
6. music: how can i put all the files in one folder into one playlist? i don't have my tracks sorted by artist but by genre. got a rock folder, a garage folder, a pop folder and so on.
the only method that i found on my W950i for adding tracks to a playlist is to manually take each track (!), press more, press add to playlist, pick a playlist and add it. that's ok for like 10 tracks. but 4GB full of music? come on. that takes days! there's got to be an easy way for that. am i the only one who handles music by genre and not artist or album? can i manage them from my computer?
7. where do i have to put albumart.jpgs to have them shown correctly? how does the walkmanplayer decide, which art to take if there is more than one?
example: one folder, 10 tracks, 10 different album arts. how do they have to be named to be shown correctly?
8. where can i always look up the newest firmware for my W950i? where do i see the changes that have been made from version to version? does anyone have a link? thanks!

I you want album arts, you need to create new folder for each album and place the art in it. Like this:
- Artist->Album(s)->Tracks+Album Art

There's no need for a top level artist folder, just putting the album folders directly in the music folder works just fine (with covers) for me.

As for the playlists, you can easily create them on the computer with something like Winamp. My P990, at least, uses normal m3u playlists which it imports on collection update.

had a chat with my local SE-Hotline yesterday.

4. more than just today's meetings on the today screen? not possible. that's bad. real bad. bad programming. should be easy and is essential to me.
5. change alarm setting? not possible. see above. really bad. who comes up with a setting like that? outright stupid.
6. one whole folder into a playlist? should work by first selecting a playlist, then clicking more, than adding a whole directory. not the other way round (first selecting the folder). can't test it at the moment as my W950 is at a SP at the moment. at least sth works

8. thx for the link, but is there a link that shows the organizer-, etc. version, too?
does anyone have any different information to the above points?
sorry for my little rant. just can't understand how some of these basic features aren't supported. i don't get it.
hope they change that as fast as possible. does anyone have any experience: do new FW updates add a lot of new features or are they mostly for bug and performance purposes? it's my first smartphone.

i really love it apart from the written points.
it's just the fact that they some of these points are basic imho which upsets me a little bit.
no camera? makes the phone slim. no problem for me.
no w-lan? wouldn't use it at all, therefor no problem.
not possible to enter a location in the calender? that's like the definition of a basic feature. that is a problem for me ;>
but even with those points i would definetely buy it again.
great phone. not loud enough for my taste but still a great phone.

Today does what it says on the tin... "Today" ?? use the calendar week display etc might help ?

just today is not enough, at least for me ^^
of course it's possible for me to look it up by hand. but that's not the point.
just bugs me that my older phones and PDAs can do all these things.
