> k800i maximum volume
Bookmark topic
hello,
i recently bought a k800i phone and i'm pretty happy with it except one big (in my opinion problem): maximum volume when listening to music using headset is much too low. i bought a hpm-70 headset and it's even lower tough it sounds better. however it isolates outside noise better so when listening on the street it's almost the same as hpm-60.
from what i heard around it's a software limitation from sony ericsson to better separate k from w series. if it's so it, i think they push it too far. w850 has walkman 2.0, better sound quality, better default headphones, megabass. it seems to mo there are more than enough features to separate it music wise of k800 so they at least could have let a decent maximum volume on k800.
so... anyone knows for sure if it's indeed an intentional software limitation by sony ericsson (not nice of them if that is the case) and are there any means to increase volume on k800? even unofficial software...
thanks

I don't get it. For me k800i is loud enough. I never listened to music at max volume.

You could replace farfield_play.zapf with farfield_ring.zapf (which you would extract from a K800 firmware) which would boost the volume.
But (I think that) this will only work for the speaker, and not for headphones...

well i had the same issue with my k800 (and the shitty hpm-60, god i HATE those headphones) but after i changed to hpm-70 it's all better because it muffles outside noise and as a added bonus my ear doesn't hurt(fizically) after more than 15 mins of listening

well... as i said, i switched to hpm 70 and sound quality is satisfactory. sound volume it isn't. it's even lower than with hpm 60. ok, it's not an walkman phone and i do not expect that much of a quality sound or cool walkman features. i'll settle with what it is. but i don't think the volume should be THAT low.

Well I am listening to my K800i through earphones just now and I cant hear a thing except the music.
The world is just passing me by with no sound.
I dont use

earphones though. I bought earphones from the vodafone shop today for my phone.
It has a connector for the phone that has a 3.5m jack so that i can use normal earphones in them. The earphones were also provided.
Cost me £13 all in and the quality and volume on the earphones is amazing
P.S its currenty Greenday "I walk alone" that im listening to
