OK firstly if someone else has already posted about this and found a solution then I apologise, but this doesn't seem to be battery related and those are the only similar queries I found.

Anyway, I had just set my K800 to update it's RSS feed.

Upon completion it seemed to freeze momentarily. So when it came back to normal running speed I decided to turn it off and turn it back on, as nothing was actually loading.

When I turned it back on it froze at the Sony Ericsson screen.. now it's not doing a thing.

i still allows file transfers and I looked to see if any strange fiels were lurking on my phone, but found nothing.

Now it just stays on the SE screen (doesn't even turn off) so before I take it to my local shop I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

The best idea is the se shop, if its not the batt, not the charger etc it has to be checked anyway

I can get it as far as choosing flight mode or not with the charger in now..

Maybe if I recharge it and see what happens like the SE website says then that might work..

Thanks for the quick reply though

EDIT: and now it's saying that batteries dead.. maybe it is dead, in which case it should be fine when I recharge it, or maybe it's knackered... lol I'll post what happens in the morning..

OK just to make sure here:

1. Do you hapen to know what EROM and firmware are you using?
2. Is the red-led blinking as well?

The reason I ask is that so many problem when R3A011 and older (R1Cx) firmware is used. And most of them are unable to power on the phone.

I just want to know whether it affect newer EROM and firmware as well.

After charging you can try to took the batt out for 5min to completely reset the phone. Well, if all else fail try updating EROM first from kulan kendi client if your phone is recognised by its client. If that is not working either then SE service centre is your best solution.

Na sorry, I dunno.

Um and my phone provider took it back and gave me a new phone.

The woman I spoke to said she hadn't known that fault before, so at least it seems rare.

Well, while you are still have a healthy phone then take a look of the firmware and EROM version. Latest firmware is R1GB and EROM R3A016.

Edit: Dead phone on older firmware is not uncommon!

New one's fine.

It got delivered less than 24 hours after I called my service provider and told them my phone was dead, which was quite impressive service wise..
