Hi all,

I recently picked up an M600i from Asia and am using it in North America. It's been great and I didn't have any problems with it for several weeks. However, a few days ago, I used the USB sync cable to charge the phone but instead of plugging it into a USB port of a computer, I used a charger that has a USB port. I found out later that Sony Ericsson does not recommend doing this but by that time it was too late.

After charging, I unplugged the cable from the phone and noticed the red charging LED beside the power button was still on. I thought that was strange so I turned off the phone to restart it. When the phone was off, the LED was STILL lit. So basically the red charging LED is always lit when the phone has a power source, even when switched off.

The battery life on the phone is now terrible. Now it'll only last a few hours on a full charge. The phone still seems to function as normal though and nothing else seems to be affected. I didn't think the LED would drain the battery so quickly so maybe there is something else going on?

I tried flashing the firmware using SEUS but it tells me I have the latest version already and the updater didn't give me a "Continue Anyways" option either. (Why is this option not available?)

Has anyone ever heard of this happening on an M600i? Is there anyway to fix this LED problem?

Will a firmware flash help? How do I enable the "Continue anyways" option in SEUS?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I assume that you have tried to remove the battery to kill the led?

Or have you just waited for the battery to drain and then charge it again?

I would try to remove the battery one time to see if it kills the led.

But i assume that you allready done this.

Hmm... dont know how to help more then this. Sorry.

Yes, I've taken the battery out and left it out for a few days but that didn't fix it either.

I'm wondering if I caused some kind of hardware problem somehow by using the USB charger.
