I'm so mad right now that I feel like throwing this phone on the floor so it could break in pieces. For at least 30 mins and counting, I've been trying to remove the battery cover so I can update the FW but the cover won't budge. My fingers on both hands are sore and I'm very frustrated. I've only had the phone for about 2 days and I've removed the battery cover maybe twice since and that wasn't easy either but got it open nonetheless. Why is is this difficult to remove the battery cover? Any pointers?

make sure di sweaty yung fingers/hands mo...gently press the cover lang then kinda force it to slide...hope this help...you will hear the bumping/clicking sound naman when you remove it...medyo masikip talaga at first pero you'll get used to it...anyways, you dont need to remove batteries always..why not trying to update the FW w/o removing the sim...it worked for me

Thanks for the reply, tol... I got it. I had to be creative and got an oversize rubber band and used it to prevent my fingers from slipping.

I took pics of the batt cover and I wonder if all the others out there have that black rubbery 'sticker' on them.

Be glad it is tight. It will loosen up over time.

You don't need to remove the SIM card for a FW update - honest!

Maybe this question fits best to this thread. I would like to know if the cover is the reason for cracking sound on P990? And if so can i buy a new one?

the cracking sound is the common problem on p990i. U don't need to buy new one. Just take a small paper. Fold it and place under the cover, top of thd batary. The cracking sound won't happen again.
