I'm surprised more people have not asked about this, but I have a W850i and cannot install the PC Suite software onto a Vista PC. I'm running the final version of Vista Enterprise and tried installing the latest version 1.30.55.

Any ideas when Sony Ericsson will release a Vista version of their software?

you dont have ne idea.

its simple windows vista is completely differant than any other windows OS.
this means that no drivers or preferencial devices will work on vista.

Unlike xp that used the basis of windows 98 the windows vista uses a completely new core structure.

this means that it will be a while before any drivers and devices will work on vista.

Me dad told me this the other day.

lol.

Vista is sh** for the moment because no software or hardware is compatable with it.

no xp software or hardware will work with vista

vista is a totally differant OS all together

Thanks for trying to help but I think you are being a little extreme by saying no software or hardware will work on Vista. All my hardware and software currently works with no problems, except the SE software.

its drivers that dont work.

the xp drivers dont work on vista.

And phone software needs drivers to talk to the phone.

hmmmm.......

let me rephrase. the drivers for preferencial devices such as printers cameras and phones dont work on windows vista. this is because the drivers are made to work on xp. i.e. system32. this means that they wont work in vista because it uses .net applications.

It has been mentioned before in this forum. There's a trick u can do to install the software on vista. Search for it.

My PC Suite works PERFECTLY on Vista, but after all, try applying "Windows XP Professional SP2" compatibility mode on the application installer and the installed application after the setup.

backwards ciompatability isnt available on vista. it doesnt have compatability mode like xp.
