> 3 X-Series and M600i

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my P910i to an M600i, but due to signal issues I'm limited to either O2 or 3 (UK), so I'm thinking I'll get any phone on those networks and eBay it, and then buy a SIM-free M600i.
My first question is: Will a 3 SIM from a Nokia N73 work in an M600i? I'm assuming so...
Secondly: Seeing as the W950i is about to be launched on 3 X-Series, is it likely that I'll be able to download the X-Series applications (Live Messenger, Skype etc) and use them on my M600i with X-Serires tariff?
Any help gratefully received

Just wanted to bump the thread here as I have the same question - can anyone comment on using 'offline-bought' smartphones with X-series?
I just called up 3 and they said they won't enable it unless I have a 3 branded N73 and register the IMEI number with them
This was the case even when I explained that I didn't mind that I wouldn't be able to use all their services, and that I only wanted it for the unlimited browsing...
(the rep. I spoke to was quite helpful though and said they were working on making the X-Series software available for p990i, which I have as a second phone/bought offline, and want to use with x-series when when it becomes possible - she said the best could do was keep checking the website...)
As an alternative, has anyone managed to convince them to enable it for anything other than an N73?

is there a way to 'ask nicely' such that they will do it? A different department maybe? Can they tell the model of phone from the IMEI (seems like a bad idea to lie to them where IMEI numbers are concerned, but I'm vaguely considering it :\\

I bought a w950 unbranded and asked about x series for it at the 3 store, and they said w950 is pretty soon and on the nokia is available software wise for it atm. i was told even though my phone is unbranded there shouldnt be a problem getting the software on it etc when the time comes as long as on "my3" you select w950i as your mobile. This was today at the meadowhall 3 store. I hope they are right

m600i works fine on x-series, all w950i xseries applications work on it too.
