Hi there, im new to this forum! I'm pleased to meet you guys!

Ok here is my story,
My s700i had received an impact to the lcd screen a few months ago. The screen was clearly broken and non functioning, whereas the phone was working fine. So I then find a cheap phone to use as a backup, after 2 or so months I had acquired an LCD screen for the s700i. I then dismantled the phone, carefully and properly replaced the LCD screen. I then reassembled the phone. I attempt to start the phone up by pressing the power button, and it just doesn't start up. My first impression would be that it would need charging as it has been unused for a few months, so I try to charge it. I was welcomed by a red light on the side of the phone (which is supposed to mean low battery or something). The battery wouldn't charge up regardless, so I hooked up the multi meter, and the battery had no current. I then bought a replacement battery, I put it in (as it had current), the red light was not emitted anymore. Yet the phone would not start up still!.

I have no idea what has caused this malfunction, even my father has double checked the connections and everything seems to be fine. Will this phone need to be flashed or something? I have limited knowledge about flashing, will it still connect to the computer if I bought a service datacable even though I can't turn it on?

Could also be that you've put one or both of the connectors that connect the screen to the mainboard in the wrong way round. I've done that before and the phone's not powered up.

It'll be a case of taking the phone apart again, swapping one connector round then trying the phone again. If that doesn't work, take it apart again and do the same with the other connector. If that doesn't, try swapping the connectors to the opposite port.

It's a bit long winded but I suspect that could be your problem.

Hi, Thanks for your help. I've managed to get it started it was due to the connectors being in the wrong order. But the lcd screen will not show anything. Upon close inspection, it flashes quitely dimly (in low light conditions). But nothing, any further assistance?

Could be one of the connectors is still in the wrong way, sorry but it'll be a case of taking it apart again and more trial and error with the connectors!

The connectors are whats attached to the cord-like thing right? Do they not only go 1 way only (as in x goes into y and vice versa)? You make it seem as if you can put them in upside down too, shall i try that?

I can't remember if they only go in one way or not, they could do. Silly question I know but were the connectors in fully? They're all connected OK on the screen side as well I presume?

If it's still not working then I'm not sure what the problem could be, unless either the screen connector on the ones on the mainboard have become slightly damaged.

Hi, a quick update.
I'd like to thank Sammy_boy and hanugro for their help. It was evident that the connectors do need the right combination otherwise it will not work.
