ok people i been thinking. how to change the firmware of any sony ericsson phone. i simply thought of changing the phone model info from the phone's system files. and when running the update service it will detect the model of the phone u want the firmware to update to, and simply it will change the firmware.

im not a prof in these things. just as theory what u think about it? is it possible?

let's have a discussion about it.

One thing for sure is that it also depends on CDA (language/region) number.

Some also said it tied with IMEI #, which if true then you can't change it, so it can't be fool. But I don't think so because that means SE has database of all the phones it has made (huge database) just for the update.

It's possible for K750/W800 in the past by using a kinda application called W800.exe. Many people managed to convert their K750i to W800i by manipulating CDA string and IMEI number. I tried once, but it failed. Now? Never heard any further news about it as SE has improved its security system.

security my friend you can say that again. Before i update my k310 to R4EA031 firmware i could put songs and play them through the media player just like that. I cant do that again. They i i must use the the software i use to put the songs on the phone i incorrect and i must use the Disc2Phone software
