Hi _ AM new to the forum and spent the last three hours trawling through the many WLAN posts for the p990i but still can't seem to solve my problem.

I am connecting via an Orange Livebox router and i enter the 26 character WEP key and hit save. I try to connect and it says unable to connect.When I go back to look at the settings the WEP key has been shortened from 26 to 15 characters.

Any suggestions please?

But I think it "recodes" the WEP key, it never stays the same when you go back to it - for security reasons probably

Try to change WEP on your router (to a shorter one) while you are setting up at least.

Another thing to try is to change from Infrastructure to Ad_hoc, at least I got contact then (the radios signal thing goes blue) but still refuse to let me out on internet, sync with active sync etc.

Thansk bjorne - i have changed the livebox from "WEP and WPA" setting to just "WEP" and seems to work fine now.
