I have a friend who lives in the US, she told me that she was using this model gadget . . . and it's just a PLAIN - PDA . . not a fone. Now, what makes me WONDER and THINK . . . is that . . . she told me that she can ACCESSS the INTERNET with it Is it possible then to access the NET with a PLAIN PDA (no CALL feature) She even told me that she can access it in places with HOSPOTs (I am assuming then that it has a Wi-Fi feature) . . . your thoughts . . . thanks !

if it has wifi yeah she can.. if not she will need to connect to a ISP of somesort..

via BT, irda or etc.

@fat - OK . . . thanks! So Wi-Fi capable-PDAs can browse the NET even when it does NOT have CALL/FONE features . . . .

@Jojo, i was visiting Esato for about 2-3 months on my ipaq (no phone feature) browsing using my neighbors Wifi. its like a laptop with wifi, it doesnt have the phone feature, but it can still browse on the internet through wifi.

@ecs - OK. I never heard of a DELL-PDA that's why . . . only - NOTEBOOKS . . . and all along I thought that it will really NEED the features of a fone in order to browse the NET . . . never used a Wi-Fi that's why Have you seen this Dell AXIM PDA dude Thanks too ! I really wanted to hear a reply coming from the US of A !

yepp, i have seen a Dell Axim (i think sometimes they are called a X50 (the model) or something like that too). a few years back when i got my ipaq, i almost bought the Axim actually... I'm not sure what made me choose the ipaq over the Axim really... both really great!
but HONESTLY... all i use it for is browsing the net when in bed, and i have it set up as a remote for my DVD player and TV hahaha.
