After years of using Sony Vaio's I have decided to try changing to a Macbook now that they have moved to intel cpu's. Before I make the move, is there is anybody else who has done something similar, can you advise if it was a a good move? I wont be using the laptop for games, only basic net/video/music editing. I was expecting the Mac to be quite a bit more expensive, but the spec seems fantastic for the price, a good few hundred £££ cheaper than the Sony alternative. I like the idea that the Mac comes with the software already installed for the applicaions I want it for, no more software/codec downloads hopefully.
I dont want this to become a Mac/PC discussion, just feedback from people who have made the switch.
Thankyou.

i did it with a desktop.
i moved from a 3.2ghz. P4, with 2gb ram to a 2.0 ghz imac intel 1.5gb ram and i can hoenstly can it was the best move i ever did.
as the ads say. it just works right out the box.
you turn it on enter a few details and job done.
tmag went from a desktop to a mac book..
afaik he's well happy too..
mac is the way forward.
granted not every app you can get on a pc is available for mac but its usually been bettered!
like i used to have music manager on PC that was ok, you would enter the EAN of the media and it would go away and retrieve the details, mac however have gone one step further and come up with delicious library, you use the built in isight and scan the EAN, the info is then sent to amazon and retrieves all the album info and current price etc.
its brill! i'd be lost without my delicious library!

It was like that thing Sammy_boy pointed out in that thread i created "Ford teams up with Microsoft". It was GM's comeback to Bill Gates where they said "Apple would created a better car that was more reliable, easier to drive, was powered by the sun, but only ran on 5% of the roads".
Mac is nice, interface wise, but the functionality of Windows is better.

@arien617
You must've missed the bit where he said "I dont want this to become a Mac/PC discussion".
