Hi,
I am aware that 3g is the faster of the 2 but do not have any experience in using either 1. Is the speed difference really big in real world use?
I assume it would be for video and audio streaming but what about reading emails?
I'm asking because I have a k750i and would probably get a free nokia 6151 3g capable phone that comes with a line. I know that the only advantage of the nokia phone is the 3g, and possibly the mem card used. I cannot compare audio quality yet.
Biggest disadvantage for the k750 is that it's not even EDGE. I'm not going to use it for any video/audio streaming (the nokia phone doesn't have a front camera) or even for browsing, but mainly for emails.
I'm just wondering which phone would I keep, and no, buying a more expensive phone is not an option
I live in the Philippines btw, so any feedback from 3g users here are very welcome.
thanks
paul

For email reading gprs is fast enough. When you download something bigger than 100kB then 3g is more usefull. Email is ussually only 1-5kB so it almost does not matter.
I think the question you need to answer is how good is 3g coverage in your city. When using dual mode (2g&3g) then your phone will drain batt more (about half of 2g mode only). Lots of blank 3g spots in your area will drain your batt even more.
My advice is try to use gprs (2g) first and if that do not sattisfy you then start thinking about 3g phone. If you only use it for email I bet it will satisfy you.

@paul - I manage to have both the K800 and K750. Yes, the K800 being a 3G fone transfers - SMS et al quite FASTER than that of the K750 . . . but the latter is competitive TOO when you are in a RIGHT - spot (coverage area).
If the K800 is in your OPTIONs LIST . . . then that will be better . . . I'm not quite familiar with the Nokia you made mention . . . are you NOT satsfied with HOW your K750i reads your mails etc. via - GPRS

Well, I am . . . Good Luck !

thanks for your replies. I really only have rarely used gprs, and only just out of curiosity. I'm just planning use it because the plan I'll be using has a fixed rate for 30 mins of use, and not per kb.
anyway I'll probably try it out on both phones, I'm inclined to keep the k750. anyway the nokia specs are:
1.3 fixed focus cam
128x160 256k
radio
expandable mem microSD
I think just behind in the cam and lcd department (don't know about the interface S40 though, I haven't used nokia in 10 years). and these 2 are not enough to convince me that the nokia phone is not worth using.
My reason being that I use a digicam to take pictures and a qvga screen is the way to go (both phones are not qvga).
again thanks
