I had un-installed some of the trial software prior my successful upgrade to the latest firmware. Since then, after each re-start, the phone would prompt me to install those previously un-installed software. In an effort to resolve this, I've tried both accepting as well as declining the re-install. When I accept, the phone obviously couldn't find the software to be installed. And when I decline, on my next restart of the phone, I'm being asked again.

Has anyone experienced this? And if so, how can I get rid of this? Thanks.

I read about a similar problem from another forum that you can use a card reader to remove the relevant files left by the delinquent programs inside the PRIVATE folder in the installation drive to stop the occurrence.

@liege168, where were the original installation files? Did you store them on the meme card or direct on the phone! These files should be removable either way.

I had that problem..

A format of the memory card cleared it.... Or u could find the folder of the appropriate installed files and manually delete them..

This also happened to me and I did the same thing, but in my case I removed all the files in the PRIVATE folder of the memory card(this folder won't show in the file manager of the p990i, you have to put the phone in USB file transfer mode or use a card reader) as it didn't indicate which application they belonged to. The phone is okay by the way and all apps still work fine after doing this. more importantly, the reinstall problem went away.
