Goodbye to my P990i. Sold it as a trade-in for an i-mate JASJAM.

A major downgrade in terms of hardware as the P990i is far ahead anything available today running WM2005. But I "need" WM2005 so I made this choice.

I am saying goodbye to a good camera and an excellent MP3 player.

But I will NEVER part with my K750i. You would have to shoot me and pry it out from my cold dead fingers.

Edit: today I traded the JasJam to buy a P990i again

nonesense! TyTN is more than an equal for the P990, not only by comments made in the comparison thread here but also by the ongoing issues experienced by P990 user even after the latest firmware update, and its also currentlly voted the worst SE of 2006 on the Esato poll! (and we should know!)

I'm curious what that need is?

What would be the need for WM2005.

you did good mate, i sold my p990i and got the p910i.

P990i is a downgrade indeed, because all the new features it has are useless, nothing works properly. when they will release a new software that will fix the memory leak completly i will prbably consider buying another p990i

Actually I found the P990i surprisingly stable as I read all the horror stories in this forum before buying it. Didn't have any major issues, especially after upgrading to R9 firmware. Just minor annoyances, with camera autofocus being the most annoying one.

During the three months I owned this phone it flipped maybe once every fortnight. That may partly be due to me backing the phone up at least twice per week, and the backup automatically reboots the phone, cleaning the memory of any cruft that may have collected.

I still love the P990i and wish I could afford to keep it, instead of selling it as a trade-in.

easy one, I've also swopped from P990 for WM5

WM5 works without bugs - UIQ doesnt

I would gladly use my P990 but cant take all the problems.

I must be blessed too, haven't noticed many bugs yet.

I have a WM5 phone too though. No bugs there, but the GUI is garbage IMHO.

That is why I am still using my P900. Rocksolid performance.
