> Email problem - again!
Bookmark topic
I have searched the net and this forum, but I cannot get anything to work.
can anyone write a simple, step by step guide to set up email for any of the following email providers:
Freeserve, Yahoo, O2, Hotmail or Lycos.
Everytime I have tried anything, it keep saying that connection to the server has failed
I have O2 WAP GPRS set up (have also tried to det it to dial into freeserve but I ge the same error), do I need anything else set up?
I have tried reading this forum, phoning O2 and using the automated setup on the sonyericsson site but nothing works.

Outgoing port (25)

Download (Headers+text)

I tried it (only difference was that I had to connect using O2 Wap GPRS because I don't have the O2 GPRS option), it goes past the connecting bit (as usual), then tries to connect to the server and comes up with the same error.
I don't understand, everything else works (MMS, WAP etc)

Not all mail providers support connectivity by GPRS/WAP.

@talbius
I'm not too sure about setting up Yahoo, or Hotmail. I remember reading stuff on Esato about setting up Yahoo (I think you have to subscribe to the service in order to set it up), but don't think it's possible with Hotmail. Do a
Search for info on Yahoo mail.
To find out what the IP address is, you have to "ping" the server.
While online, go into the Start menu, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and type "ping name of server" and it will list the IP address of the server.
For example, to find the IP address for the POP Freeserve server I typed: ping pop.freeserve.com
and hit Return, easy!

have tried changing the POP server, it tried connecting for about 1 minute (normally a second or 2) but then eventually came up with the same error,
I tried it again, but after about a minute, I pressed 'NO', then it tried sending mails & said "Send Failed"
