> HID Files (Remote Control) on SE w850i
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
Just to know if there is any way to read/execute *.hid files on a Sony Ericsson w850i cell phone (orange network..). The *.hid files are essential for using the phone as a remote control. My default remote controls work (Presenter, MediaPlayer, Desktop), but all the files which can be found on the net or which I created with the default sdk for hid remote control files can only be "Sent" via Bluetooth or IrDa... and I can't execute them...
Anyone can help?
Thank you (and thanks even more if you can reply quickly!)
Cheers

Well it's included in the w850i's functions.. it uses bluetooth hid connection. But my w850i just won't read the files required for custom bluetooth remotes...

I had the same fun problems. It seems as though you drag and drop it to your phone in the right place, but the phone just ignores it! Well what you need to do is send the file to the phone using a bluetooth send file application such as Floats Mobile Agent or just drop the HID file into the root of your phone memory... not into the Other folder like they say. If you use iTunes and want to control it using your phone, there's a little HID file at
peebo that will sort you out. Nice picture too I reckon. If you want any others doing, I'm looking for ideas.

If you are looking for more remotes to use than the standard ones, I have found this web site that offers a great collection of *.hid files. It shows you how to create your own and goes into more detail.
http://www.hidfiles.com/
If you create one you can also submit it..
