I dropped a K510i in the bath (don't ask!) and I immediately stripped it using a Torx screwdriver and waved a hair-dryer around it's nether regions. It still works fine now.
I think the key points to remember if this happens to you is take the battery out IMMEDIATELY and open the phone up ASAP to get air all around it.

just for secure, i would let it clean in a service too. my friend in his shop is using a kind of "vibra-bath", the motherboard swims in that some hours long and do helps sometimes at really bad accidents as well.

I'd keep the phone off with the battery out for another day or so if I were you just to make sure that it's fully dried out and minimise the risk of any corrosion occuring later.

sometiems he put in that 3 times in a row and cleans even on its own with his wonder weapos, even really bad looking fones came back to life, but it takes time and needs really big experinece where and how to clean
