OK guys,

You have all been v.helpful with advice when my k800i 'bricked' unfortunately neither wotan nor kulan could fix it and I've been told it's a security zone error or bad certificate.

Anyways I've sent it to a fone shop who have h/w to fix it.

In the meantime, I got me another k800i which is already at R1GB001 so I assume CID51.

My question is:

As this phone is working (for the moment) is there any point in me trying to flash or update EROM???

What if any are the benefits???

Answers on a postcard to...

So is your brand-new K800i bundled with the old R3A011 EROM? How can you update the EROM if it's CID 51,then?
IMHO, as you can do nothing ATM, just enjoy using the phone. Why should you fix what isn't broken?

I also wanna upgrade my CID i think i have CID51 right now im not sure?

It get me think there are some cool features when upgrading CID since everyone here seem to brag about it over here.

I wannamake my K800 faster and have more features NOW!!! Me sees the only solution is upgrading EROM and CID. RG1B01 is old and outdated.

Me have unbranded phone.

Aremaboy, I'm concerned b'coz my 1st K800i bricked a few days after upgrading to R1GB001 on SEUS

From what I've read - I need to get my EROM up from R3A011 to R3A016 (is that right?) but can't because it's at CID51 and there aint any code for that yet?

If I don't get the EROM up, I run the risk of the fone bricking thru bog standard every day use...just like my previous K800i and the K610i before that!

Misunderstanding ppl post you have. No one is bragging about CID51. In fact in firmware K800 thread first post updated by MWarner is clearly written the WARNING that EROM CID will be 51 after SEUS update. So most of us actually does not want CID51 phone.

If you already have EROM R3A016 then it does not matter. But if you got R3A011 you are advised to upgrade it to R3A016 first before making SEUS update. Also if you want to change/customize your phone icon or menu behaviour then forget it as CID 51 has not been cracked yet.

That is correct. No CID51 loader exist yet. That is why we generally do NOT want this CID51 update. But I am sure within few weeks it will be available.

What is EROM ver in your new K800 phone? Few dangerous thing that mostly happen when you kill your phone in R3A011 include:

1. Changing SIM card
2. Using the batt until it run out

Hi Hanugro

I have my handset back alive

I now have two K800i both on CID51 and both on EROM R3A011

Basically then, I don't want to be taking out my SIM and letting the battery run down until I can upgrade to R3A16?

Thanks for the advice, v.much appreciated.

If it weren't for guys like yourselves I wouldn't know what CID, CDA, EROM etc was all about.

Thanks again.

I change SIM Cards very very often. No problems at all. I run out battery many times and my phone is just OK. My EROM is the old one. Just lucky,eh?

Well, Have you tried to ask SE authorised service centre to update EROM for you? Here in my country they denied about seperate EROM update and said it will be updated with firmware.

Well, from what I read those two activity accounts on the majority of WSOD. There are other thing that can trigger it but at least with two phone you can afford to use one while the other is serviced by SE.

I saw your message on Kulan forum. How did you fix your phone again? You seems have EROM CID51 so you don't fix it by updating the EROM?
