I''m trying to setup my mobile to get my e.mail, RSS feeds etc. via my PC as I seem to be adding unknown amounts to my monthly bill by playing with these features. I'm on a providor that charged me £16 to update the software on the phone when I first got it!!
So far I have done the following:
On the mobile:
Gone into Connectivity, Internet Access and created a new profile which connects using my XP-PC. Told phone to use that config.
Bluetooth or cable connected to PC
On PC:
Given the LAN adapter an IP address, G/W, DNS
If I try and update an RSS feed I get a message saying bluetooth/cable has connected to Personal Area Network, the LAN adapter properties shows 1-2 packets being re/transmitted but I am not getting anything back. Similar results If I email (get connecting on the phonebut get no further), browser I get nothing. Firewall is disabled on bluetooth adapeter etc.
I know I am overlooking something but can''t think what. Anyone tried this and/or got any tips?
Thx.
