> K790a keypad rubbing off
Bookmark topic
So I've had the k790a for two months, and in the last few weeks the keypad has started to peel off. I keep my phone in my pocket, it's not rubbing against my keys or something. Take a look for yourself -
Anyone run into this? any ideas for a fix???
thanks

I guess a fix would be to replace the keypad which wouldn't cost alot but perhaps you can get SE to do it under warranty
prevention would be to use a case, even a clear one if you don't want to spoil the look of the phone

That is unfortunate. I am sure it would be covered under warrenty if it happened recently to purchasing. (within a year typically) However, you might could fix them with a marker or a paint marker type thing.

I got mine off ebay (US) - didn't actually realize it was brown when I bought it, but was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up. I can give the name of the seller if you want. I may try the warranty thing when it becomes illegible, but it's sort of annoying to send my phone out.
Thanks anyway

mine has also started to peel off. first, it started as little air bubbles and then it peels off. keys 3, 6 and 7 are the ones affected. it doesn't look so bad and it's only noticeable if you pay close attention, though. but it's just annoying to think

used such a cheap material for a keypad. let's hope Sony Ericsson's next "K" flagship model will have addressed these issues, specially the problematic joystick.
