when you see that message it means you cannot currently access your own network, but other networks are available but since you cannot roam to them you can only use them to make emergency calls

it would seem so. I used to get it quite a bit on vodafone too but rarely see it since moving to t-mobile

I used to report poor signal areas to vodafone. they seemed interested and took note of each location but rarely did I see any difference the next time I went back to that spot.

had weak orange signal at my university, could still make a call and send text but with some problems so I switched to voda, which does not show any reception at all!! I thought voda were the best in this matter but it turns out that 3 has the best reception at my uni.. Which is quite shocking how 3 first started with their very poor reception.

ok just i took lens cover off my phone recently using a debit card and it slightly bent and doesnt go on properly at one side, thought it might be to do with tht. I reckon i might get a new OEM one for 35 quid near me cos mine has a scratty vodacrap logo atm anyway

My W800 says that quite often because I have it on the carrier with the worst coverage. However when my K790 is in the same situation (rarely), the signal bar goes blank and the operator name disappears. I like it better on the W800 so I can see if another carrier is available and swap SIM card or sthg.
