Hi,

Anyone know what formats are supported on the p990i for video streaming? I'm not talking downloading then watching, I'm talking streaming via the rtsp protocol.

I can't get mp4 to work at all. So not much to say there. the 100kbit sample mp4 video that came with the "Darwin Streaming Server" streamed and played, but no sound came out. No ipod videos I've found on the 'net stream either.

As for 3gp, I downloaded a 200Mb movie to my memory card from my computer, and it was playing VERY VERY slow, skipping every few frames. But it won't stream. A sample 50kbit 3gp file, again from the "Darwin Streaming Server", works fine - one of the few successes.

Streaming is a different matter - the video clip that comes with the "Darwin Streaming Server" works fine, but the ones I create don't.

Does anybody know more about streaming, and playing movies in general? It is a bit of a rubbish movie player, I must say... it doesn't seem to support playing very large movie files, and those it plays must be encoded exactly in a certain manner or else it won't play them.

(UPDATE:) I fanally managed to get some results. What was missing from my streamed files was 'hinting' tracks. I had used ffmpeg to convert the files to mp4/3gp, but there weren't any hinting tracks in them, so they wouldn't play over streamed rtsp.

However, THERE'S NO SOUND! There's gotta be someone here who's done this. There has to... I'm begging you
