Is this true? That the P990 hasn't HSDPA???
3 here in Denmark has just released Turbo-3G with speeds of either 1,0 Mbit/s, 1,5 Mbit/s og 3,0 Mbit/s.
But the phones have to support HSDPA which even the Tytn has...

ah well not to matter...Yes it is sad....Telstra network in Australia have hspda phones from samsung, lg, imate, motorola. And telstra have their own phone too...
But ive got word we are expecting hspda compatible phones from

a bit later on this year. Well, thats for the telstra network any way.
So i think its safe to say you will get you hspda

phones later this year too. I doubt they will be in Aus only

Yes, but will it also be a phone like the P990? With touchscreen? Presently I'm a very happy owner of a P900 and had the P990 in mind for a replace when the price was lower - but also my next buy has to support what will be the next standard in mobile internet, since it probably will be alot of money I'll spend on the phone - otherwise I'll just keep the P900...

no dont think it will be touch screen models, maybe they will come later...
Though, perhaps one of

uiq phones for 2007 will have hspda enabled
And dont forget the p990i was announced quite a while ago now, probably before

even decided to build hspda devices...Well the phone was announced that long ago so it its possible

kidding

@Foxhunter
1. why not buy the TyTn, its okay?
2. under 3G the P990 is very quick, the main benefit of HSDPA will be if you use a HSDPA device as a modem and on a Smartphone the CPU/memory/screen refresh latency will rob you of some of the HSDPA performance

I just like the S/E and I find the Tytn bulky and then it's a Windows phone - just not so keen on it, but maybe that's just something one has to get over...?

TyTN is no more bulky than P990 but as you're a P series user who has read the bias here towards WM devices then perhaps thats a hurdle which is hard to overcome
having had P990 and TyTN at the same time for a while, and dumped P990, and as a heavy data user bother on the device itself and via PC when out and about and away from wifi... I really love the speed from hsdpa
mind you, even my aussie Telstra branded Samsung has hsdpa so its a shame SE is a bit slow in this area

While I understant why it does not have hispeed internet, it beats me why Se did not implement the by now standard EDGE ! ! ! If one can not or does not want to use the batt. hungry 3G network, on a P990i the outdated Gprs standard is the only option ! That thought alone, put me of in a instant. Even my n70 has Edge
