> Why so few UIQ3 apps for P990
Bookmark topic
I have been looking around to see what apps are available for the P990i the answer seems to be not many! No PowerMP3, not many games, UIQ3 seems to be a bit of a dead duck so far,
Perhaps I am not looking in the right places, or it takes a very long time to develop in UIQ3 or has some genius designed it so you have to buy a very very expensive SDK thus rendering the small developer redundant?
Handango is normaly a reliable source but seems very short on either the UK or USA site.
symbianapplications.net just seems to have old stuff (not UIQ3)
The list goes on

Hi Nitro Fan
Yours is a complaint shared by many i think the best source of apps for UIQ3 is over @ My-Symbian.com as if they don't have it i don't know who else might.

I totally agree with Johnex.
I owned a P800 and a P900 b4 my P990i. The only 2 apps I really need on P990i are the Handy Day Desktop Pro and the Magic Profiles Pro.
Somehow, I have ALL the others I used to have on the UIQ2 phones, so I can say there are a LOT of apps out there.
Of course, this is only what I need and use, so it's also a matter of personal taste and use. But in all I have 78 apps installed....

Agree with previous two posts. I consider myself a business user and so far have almost everything I need. One thing I steal wait for is hand wallet.

It's all fair and good saying there are plenty of apps out there... BUT! They look like they were knocked out in 10 seconds. Poorly made, featureless... I don't mean to be harsh but of the applications that I have paid for only 4 remain on my phone; PicoDrive (Freeware), GVIEW (Freeware), TomTom 6 (Tried the pirate version, then bought it with GPS reciever), Swiss Manager (Freeware).
Notice that I have only one "paid" application that I feel is worth every penny. Do alarm bells not start to ring when you realise that UIQ 3 as a platform has been around since July 2006 (6 months), and we are yet to get any kind of "true" video application, for all the trickery and power nobody has yet managed to do this... And many applications that should have been ported from the old platform (UIQ 2) are nowhere to be seen!
These are all failings of SE and UIQ 3 as far as the P990i, W950, M600's shelf life is concerned is a LAME DUCK!
God I hate WM5, but the recent weeks have made me look at them admiringly for the availabilty of software that we only wish we could have for our beloved UIQ 3 phones.
Oh well back to the drawing board pinky! (The Brain (c) 1992)

For example advance call manager, magic message manager, document to go are very professional and worth the money. They make one's phone very smart:) And smp is must have.
