What is supposed to happen then?

I am trying to use the 'Read CID/Test Cable' feature on DaVinci and connect my phone to FarManager. Both requires me to switch the phone off, and do the 'Hold C/Plug USB cable' procedure.

When I do this, the phone does switch itself on. But it is supposed to enter some kind of special mode? All I get is the phone starting as normal, reaching the Start phone/Music only screen.

Anything that doesn't require this procedure works fine (i.e. MyPhoneExplorer). But I'd really like to have a go at increasing my SMS limit (I wonder why SE didn't provide a higher limit in the first place).

And I've also tried the original that came with the CD. No dice either way.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. But what what stage do I need to install those drivers? I've uninstalled the W800i drivers, and when windows asked for drivers after plugging my phone in, I pointed it to the extracted zip. But Windows will not install those drivers, instead saying that it could not find a better match in that location.

Just to clarify: You have to press and hold the "c" (clear) button while plugging in the usb lead and release the c key when either told to or davinci starts doing something.
