Today I went and got my phone 'debranded' (originally Vodafone)
Got it back and now there are 2 versions of the Phone, Organiser and CDA versions:
Phone:
CXC162037 R7A001
R9EA001
prgCXC162037_CCPU_HE_LL_NI[][][][][]
Organizer:
CXC162036 R3B01
CXC162036 R4A13
CDA:
CDA162008/91 R3A01
CDA162007/2 R4A09
My phone appears to benefit from the new firmware changes and it tells me I have the latest firmware when I try to upgrade through SEUS but I dunno if I just paid £20 to get my phone temporarily flashed. i.e. it will revert back to Vodafone firmware when the update is available on SEUS? :/
ideas anyone?

i'm not sure what they've done to your beloved m600 but it doesn't look to good. but as long as all the functions work then thats the main thing.
as for which firmware you will get from the next SEUS update - i'm not sure. Although, i wouldn't be suprised if it reverted back to voda.

What's the difference between a master reset and format on the P990i ? Where do you access each of these options from ?
On the Blackberry Pearl, if you reformat the internal memory it reinstalls the manufacturers apps as well - will this happen with the P990 internal format (from the enigineering menu) ?
If format does resinstall apps, will it reinstall the firmware which was loaded at the time of manufacturing or the last upgraded firmware ?
Also, if a format my phone memory, will SEUS be able to do a firmware upgrade or will it just not recognize the phone i.e. does there need to be already some version of the firmware on the phone for SEUS to work ?
Thanks

hum - now i'm pretty sure that SEUS will bring the voda branding back.
The SEUS program determins which flash to give you depending on the CDA version. I skimmed through the posts like you did and i'm pretty sure it implies that the old CDA version is left in the phone...
Another thing to consider is that as this seems to be an unusual situation (having 2 version numbers) the SEUS update program my not work at all?
This is all speculation - the best thing to do is find some1 who has tried it!!!

In many cases SEUS won't recognise the handset as it has more than one CDA, so it gets "Confused". this is actually the best case scenario, as the other alternative is that it puts the crappy Voda FW back on.
These are the only 2 things I have seen SEUS do with phones that have been badly flashed.
My advice is take it back to the guy who flashed it and demand he does it correctly, as he has tried to skimp out on you, as you obv have he old security version, so debranding can be done without CDA change, however this doesn't allow for updates via SEUS.
If you paid for this service I would kick up a stink as the person who did it, did it for FREE, 100% profit aint bad is it, or did you pay for his time lol.
This is not a good service so take it back and get it fixed because it doesn't provide the service that is required of debranding.
