I've set up several dial up (analog) accounts and put them in a group. When I go into the web browser and put in an address, it asks which group to select to connect and I pick the one containing the accounts I've created. A connection icon appears at the bottom then disappears a second later.
It then says page not found. Has anyone managed to get this to work?

Check with your service provider that dial-up data is active on your sim. O2 in the UK does not enable this by default on their current sim cards, they expect you to use gprs or 3G (probably not the right acronyms, but you get the idea).

Hi, thanks for the reply.

It should be enabled on my o2 sim as I have been using it on my SE z530 to connect to the net via dialup. When I got the p990i, I just put the same sim card in it.
The weird thing with the p990i is that it tries to connect for only a second or so (showing the world & phone icon at the bottom of the screen) then disconnects. I would have expected it to reach the authentication at least but it's not the case.

Can anyone try connecting to this free dialup and check if it works?

It's an 0845 number and should come out of the free o2 anytime minutes.

yes, works using that number - online now with it.

just remembered, you need to select GSM networks only not 3G.

Tools/Control Panel/Connections/Mobile Networks.

Drop down menu has GSM/3G Networks as the 3rd option.
Pick GSM only.

(This is a generic 1 phone, not o2 fw)
