That’s the day when the PS3 finally goes on sale in the U.K and What’s more, only the 60GB version will be available at launch for £425.

personally i think thats unfair as teenagers like me who havent got much money probably would have gone for the cheaper 20gb model...

same date for our Aussies members but at AUD $999.95 for the 60gb!
at the exchange rate thats a little cheaper than UK but in Aussie terms thats a bl**dy lot of money for a console

well the 360 was about $800 at launch, and only has 20gb... PS3 has 60gb hardrive so i can understand the launch price...

its a year or so later and hard drive prices are tuppence for the 40gb difference we're talking
I still say an aussie grand is big bucks, especially when kids are going to want their parents to buy this for them, and I'm sure it will put quite a few people off initially, either that, or there wil be alot of dented credit cards!

Im fairly sure when the xbox and ps2 launched they were also very pricey, but still sold.
The PS3 will sell extremely well even though it has a high price. Not only the extra gb adds to the price, there are other things....BlueRay for example. Those Blu Ray dvd players are so expensive here! Samsung ones are going for nearly $1000 when i saw them at jb hi-fi.
