Hi.
I just opened a new sim to put in my phone as I plan on getting the PAC code to use an easier number, anyway I took out my Voda sim and put in this O2 sim and got the message "Inactive Sim" ok fer enough need to register it so I took it out and now my phone wont switch on at all. It wont charge, nothing. If I take out my battery then reinsert it and attempt to turn it on the screen will flash white for a second and occasionally the red light at the top will come on.
I was thinking the sim could be barred but I've just opened it new so I'm fairly sure its not that.
I've also tried updating the software but it just says I've got the latest installed.
Also my phone had plenty of battery (still green) when this happened.
What can I do.
Thanks.

Red light at the top (I didn't know the w810 had this?) should indicate a very low battery. I'd try to charge it for a long time (a couple of hours or so) and then try again. Have you tried with the other sim?
I can happen that the indicator gets it all wrong, as it is a combination of the current use and the charge.

regarding the sim card, it could just be locked to the Vodafone network. Not sure about the not turning on, it could be battery's flat. Also try taking the battery out for a few seconds, re-inserting it and try powering the phone if charging it doesn't work.
I don't think it's blocked though - have you had the phone from new or was it bought secondhand?

Technically it's second hand. Got it from a mate who got it as an upgrade to sell on but he had only opened it to check the contents. I've had the phone well over 6 months and never had a problem with it. The phone is unlocked as it was originally locked to tmobile but I use it with voda.
It's charging now but nothing is appearing on the screen. I'll give it a few hours or so.

Right I've just tried turning my phone on with a different battery and I get the same outcome, I've also tried my current battery in another phone and it works fine so it must be a software problem. Is there any way of sorting this, if so how? Can I force a software update etc...

Assuming the phone turns on, doesn't vibrate with the SE screen, but turns off instead..........normally signifies an EROM problem(the LED on top of the phone should flash a few times to indicate this, but doesn't always). DaVinci, Wotan, Kulankendi can fix this, hope this helps!
