can w800 play aac i got a few mates that have aac music files and when i recieve them i cant do anything with them is there a way to be able to play them

You can use dbpoweramp to wrap .aac files in a M4A container. Then they will play fine.
.AAC is a raw aac file, very few phones or players will play that.

Didn't really think there was a
big difference between the W800 and the W810 as my W810 plays .aac which I converted using iTunes.

I don't htink you don't get it. AAC is a codec. M4A is a container to place the codec in so that players can play it.
itunes rips to the AAC codec and places it in an M4A container. I don't know where you are getting .aac from, itunes uses the extension .m4a.

hmm that's interesting. I believe, but may be wrong, that in that case it means they are drm protected (as sammy boy said). Nokia utilise aac for drm content. I used to have a 5510 with inbuilt 64MB musicplayer, and it could onl;y play drm'd .aac files (which you could create with the provided software and copy to the ophone, but I couldn't get those .aac files to play on the computer (couldn't even wrap 'em in an mp4 container)
However, you could try dbpoweramp (.aac to .mp4 codec) to wrap them in an mp4 wrapper - they might play then.
If they can play on your computer, there is a good chance you can turn them into mp4's
